Affairs of the Art

“Affairs of the Art”: A Family Brought Together by Pigeons and Eyeball-Filled Jars | The New Yorker | Filmmakers Joanna Quinn and Les Mills tell the story of an extraordinary family whose interests become all-consuming—from pickling to bug collecting, no passion is off-limits.

4.1 Miles

4.1 Miles is a 2016 short documentary film about a coast guard captain on a remote Greek island who is charged with the saving thousands of migrants crossing the Aegean Sea during the European migrant crisis. The film is directed by Daphne Matziaraki and nominated for a 2017 Academy Award.

Nomeado.

SLR

SLR from Stephen Fingleton on Vimeo.

twitter.com/sfingali SLR is a short thriller about a man obsessed with "voyeur pornography". When he makes a shocking discovery online, he is forced onto the trail of an anonymous photographer known only by his user name of ANORAK.

In the tradition of BLOW-UP, THE CONVERSATION and HARD CORE, SLR puts a morally compromised man through the meat grinder of his own behaviour. The film was one of 16 shorts made through the BFI Shorts/ Lighthouse scheme, and stars noted Irish character actors LIAM CUNNINGHAM and RICHARD DORMER, both of whom are stars of GAME OF THRONES. It was nominated for an IFTA and won Best Irish Short at the Academy-recognised Foyle Film Festival. SLR is being put online in conjunction with a companion film called SELFIE - see here https://vimeo.com/84851890. You can follow SLR's progress at www.facebook.com/thefilmSLR and read an interview with the filmmaker at http://onesmallwindow.com/interviews/interview-with-stephen-fingleton-director-of-slr/ . The soundtrack is also available to buy on bandcamp: http://sfingali.bandcamp.com/

Hoje à noite há estrelas.

Marilyn Monroe arrived in England, at London Airport (now Heathrow) at 10.40am on 14 July 1956. The newlyweds were travelling with 27 pieces of luggage, which costs them $1,500 in excess baggage fees. That is over $12,600 in 2012. The newsclip also shows Marilyn meeting Queen Elizabeth, who was also born in 1926.

Gustavo Santaolalla.

O autor é Gustavo Santaolalla e o jogo é The Last Of Us e não podia concordar mais com a Empire quando diz...

The Last Of Us is not a film, but if it were a film, it's a safe bet it would have appeared in more than a few of Team Empire's Top 10 lists. On the surface, it's an action-adventure survival horror game about zombies, fungal spores and the unlikely duo of a jaded 40-odd-year-old apocalypse survivor called Joel and a 14-year-old orphan called Ellie. Dig a little deeper and it's one of the most emotionally-affecting stories of the year, an intensely cinematic tale of fear, survival and friendship.

E ouvir a música dele.
