Nolan, Iñárritu, Jonze

Miguel Branco is a Canadian student, editor and all-around movie encyclopedia. He did these three really good supercuts.

Christopher Nolan is a British filmmaker born in London, England. Already stapled as one of the most entertaining, talented, and exhilarating directors of the past decade, Nolan’s nine feature-length films have brought us some of the best theater experiences we’re ever going to have, much due to his intelligent direction, attention to detail, and creativity a grandiose scale.

Alejandro González Iñárritu is a Mexican filmmaker born in Mexico City. Often dealing with tragedy, grief, and harrowingly dark and interconnected stories, Iñárritu’s directorial style relies heavily on the ability to create and develop compelling characters, plots, and motifs, all aided by equally powerful and beautiful imagery.

Spike Jonze is an American filmmaker born in Rockville, Maryland. Although he’s only directed four feature-length films, Jonze’s experimental and unique approach to telling stories is what sets him apart from the pack. From the story of a man falling in love with his operating system, to the adapted tale of a young boy’s adventures with a mysterious group of creatures, Jonze’s work has resonated with audiences around the world, channeling moments of melancholy, humor, and brilliance.
